We recently had the privilege of producing custom merchandise for Yago Dora, the 2025 WSL World Champion, in collaboration with Volcom — one of the most respected names in surf culture.
For the team at madebyplasma, this wasn’t just another order. It was an honour to be trusted with printing for a global surf icon, and a milestone moment in our own journey as printers and creatives.
Yago Dora’s Road to the 2025 World Title
In September 2025, Yago Dora made history at Cloudbreak, Fiji, claiming his first-ever World Surf League Men’s Championship in a thrilling final against Griffin Colapinto.
Coming into the WSL Finals as the top seed, Dora’s performance throughout the season had been nothing short of exceptional — a combination of power, flow, and style that set him apart on every stop of the tour.
In the title match, Dora posted an 8.33 early on, backed up by a 7.33, locking in a two-wave total of 15.66 to Colapinto’s 12.33. Despite Colapinto’s late push, Dora’s control, composure, and explosive surfing sealed the deal — earning him his maiden world title and cementing his place among the sport’s elite.
This victory continues Brazil’s dominance in competitive surfing, following in the footsteps of Gabriel Medina, Filipe Toledo, and Ítalo Ferreira — a generation defined by creativity, innovation, and fearless style.

Volcom supplied the blanks for this project — premium garments designed to match the brand’s unique fit, weight, and feel. Our role was to bring those garments to life through precision screenprinting, colour matching, and attention to every technical detail.
Every step — from Pantone ink mixing to print testing and curing — was handled in our Burleigh Heads studio, ensuring each piece met Volcom’s global quality standards.
When you’re printing for a brand that helped define surf culture, the standard is simple: it has to be perfect.

Surfing is where madebyplasma began — it’s in our blood. Our studio sits just minutes from the ocean, and many of our team grew up chasing waves before we ever pulled a squeegee.
To contribute to a piece of surf history — printing for the 2025 World Champion and one of the most influential brands in the industry — means a lot to us. It’s validation of years spent refining our craft, and proof that print can connect deeply to culture.
